About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Kimberly. My friends call me Kim because it’s convenient, so you can too! I was born in San Pedro, California and I currently live in the Greater Los Angeles Area (Studio City to be exact). As an adult, I bounced between the Westside (mostly Santa Monica and Venice) and the San Fernando Valley until I finally realized I am a Valley Girl at heart.

I am currently a full-time transfer student at OSU. (Go Beavers!) This is my second quarter of Ecampus classes and I am in my junior year here as a French major.

Why French? (I’ll pretend you asked.) Funny you should ask! I have  been learning French for a little over 3 years and I immediately fell in love with the language. I took up language-learning to stop smoking. Good news: I do not smoke anymore and I have a new language to show for it. While I’m not 100% sure what the next stage of my career will look like, I began translating film and television scripts into French in 2022 and I am enamored with the translation process. Eventually, I would also like to try my hand at interpretation. In case you don’t know, translation deals with written language and interpretation with spoken language.

Besides French, a few of my favorite hobbies include yoga, hiking, and reading. I also enjoy walking Kona, my rather spoiled Chihuahua. 

One interesting thing you should definitely know about me is that I grew up watching game shows and have recently fulfilled the dream of my 8-year-old self - Yes! I was recently a contestant on The Price is Right and I killed it if I do say so myself. I even won a Kia Soul on the show! You can check out the episode here. 

Fun fact: The wheel is MUCH HEAVIER than it looks. It even lifted me off the ground when I tried to spin it. Hence why the show's host, Drew Carey, is laughing hysterically.
